Living memory / Dead memory
What can we say today about memories that hasn’t already been formulated in some way by past generations?
Almost nothing! In fact, we’re not talking here about memory as opposed to intelligence. CaribArte is less interested in the theoretical aspects of defining memory. Rather, our focus is in this faculty of preserving and restoring the events that shape existence.
We ask of you, dear creators, to connect with your past (conscious or not), through artistic productions based on life events (personal, family, collective). Dig inside a bit, and find the repository of memories, perhaps buried for far too long.
To participate
Deadline for application submission: August 2nd 2025 - 11H59 PM
The file must be a Word or PDF document including
- Artistic vision (100 words, max).
- Project description (250 words, max), explaining the link with the theme.
- Curriculum vitae (2 pages, max).
- Artist's contact details (full name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, website, country of birth, and current city of residence).
- A maximum of 5 images (JPEG or PDF format, 72 dpi, 500 ko max per image) must be submitted and identified with title, year of realization, medium, dimensions etc..);
- A maximum of 3 hyperlinks of audio and/or footage, accessible online and duly identified;
Only proposals received on email adress info@ caribarte.org and meeting the stated criterias will be considered.
